The Glory Expansion pack for Draconis Invasion from Keji Inc. brings new dynamics to the already epic deck battling game. Draconis Invasion‘s action-packed and dramatic art has been raising eyebrows for years, detailing a dark fantasy world at war, with monstrous invaders and heroic defenders. The earlier Wrath Expansion added a new levels to the campaign setting as the forces of light counterattacked, gradually adding new abilities and threats one at a time. The new Glory Expansion takes a different route, focusing on the mechanics to enable players to have the most glorious time playing their customized Draconis Invasion.

Smooth Integration

Gameplay in Draconis Invasion has always been streamlined, making it a perfect candidate for expansions. Each player’s turn falls into a rhythm in immediate actions, building their deck with new cards, defeating opponents, and maintaining card layout. Players learn the organized play quickly, leaving more time to study the specialized cards and strategize for the best attacks and defense.

New Directions

The Glory Expansion creates new dynamic roles, with Champions, Bonuses, and Invocations. Champions come into play as powerful new cards, each with a unique special ability. These may be straightforward damage, hand modifications, or manipulation of the Terror cards that affect the whole scope of the game. Because the Champions are unique, games including them will be automatically asymmetrical and prompt clever individual strategizing.

Bonus cards, meanwhile, are held to the end of the game to give special bonuses for certain criteria, like having the most Fortune cards or defeating the most Undead Invaders. These goals are especially perfect campaigns, whether in teams or alone, guiding players into their preferred roles.

Finally, Invocation tiles give a space where players may store a card after buying it, giving them the ability to wait and use it at the most opportune moment.

Flexible Gameplay in ‘Draconis Invasion’

The Glory Expansion not only fits in easily to the smooth gameplay but adds flexibility. The original set already maximized its versatility, with special rules for solo play, a balanced two-player mode, and Team Versus mode. New rules with the Glory Expansion allow for even more modifications, with special two-player co-op events revealing and trashing cards. On balance, the Terror is ramped up, making for a gripping contest.

Draconis Invasion is a card game for one to six players aged 14 and up. Games can last an hour or more, depending on how long players strategize and of course which game additions they use. Because the Glory Expansion is modular, players may include or avoid any part they choose. Some may enjoy the variety of Champions and Invocations coming into play while others might want to keep things simple with only new Bonuses.

Thanks to its versatility and easy modification, Draconis Invasion will continue to be many players’ favorite game since they can adapt it perfectly to what they want as they battle for supremacy in a dark world.
